What is the importance of photosynthesis?

Photosynthesis provides a plant with food, allowing it to stay alive, primarily allowing nearly all organisms to stay alive, as plants are primary producers. Meaning consumers on all stages relies directly or indirectly on plants. Other than energy, photosynthesis is also the source of carbon in all the organic compounds within organisms' bodies. Photosynthesis also allows the plant to take in CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) and provide oxygen, which is required for all animals to survive. By taking in CO2 and producing oxygen, there will be a balanced percentage of useful gas (Oxygen) and CO2 (Mostly produced by us), slowing down the process of global warming.
